JOHN

John is the current president of the HBA and has served on the Board of Directors from 1993 to the present. He has also held the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President of the HBA. He has built numerous award-winning Parade Homes and continues to actively participate in the Parade of Homes.

John Kurowski formed
Kurowski Development Company in 1976. Prior to forming his own company, he
was vice president and general manager for Terracor at the Pinery, a
5,000-acre primary home community located southeast of Denver. At the
Pinery, it was John's responsibility to plan, coordinate, and control
on-site physical development, maintenance, housing, marketing, sales, and
public relations activities.
John has been an
innovator in home building technology since the founding of his company.
An example of his leadership was the Home Builders Association's selection
of him to build the 1982 promotion home, "Echonergy." Formed
from "ecology," "technology," and "energy,"
the word reflects the home's purpose of demonstrating these qualities to
the public and other builders.
John has received
numerous awards over the years, including eight MAME awards in fifteen
years and the special Judges' Award. He was also given the "Award of
Merit" by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference.
John's leadership in
technology was recognized by the Solar Energy Research Institute when he
was selected to design and build a home for the first passive solar home
tour. As a result of the finished home, John was appointed to the
Governor's Solar Advisory Council where he served for three years. He also
served as chairperson of the Home Builders Association Energy Committee
for five years.
In recognition of his
significant contributions to the home building industry, John was selected
by his peers as the 1994 HBA "Builder of the Year. "Our
clients deserve the best we can offer. And our philosophy is that we can
never lean solely on our past. We can only continue to offer clients a
home of exceptional quality if we put forth the effort to make ourselves
and our homes the best."
