Statement of Purpose

The Builders' Integrity Group has been formed by Colorado's Best Custom Home Builders to set the custom building industry quality benchmark through excellence in home design, management practices, construction quality, customer service and operating ethics. The members are distinguished by and recognized for their superior achievement through honorable business dealings, high level of customer satisfaction, superior quality product within each market segment, career commitments to learning and industry knowledge, Home Builders Association and community involvement, and solid financial capability to ensure business stability.

In order to achieve this worthwhile goal of setting the standards for the best in the industry, we as builders must operate in a partnership with our valued trade contractors. It is not enough that we builders commit to these standards of performance. In order to achieve these ideals all the trades, especially the people in the field who actually produce the homes, must also commit to these standards. We builders are committed to excellence in the above areas We need partners with the same commitment.

Therefore we have created a Partnership Program to work toward this goal. It will need to have benefits to both partners in order to be effective. We believe we have a program that offers significant benefits to the trade contractor, in exchange for your commitment to excellence which will benefit us as builders.

The key to achieving these benefits is the attached Builder-Trade Contractor Integrity Pledge. The Pledge gives you the Trade Contractor significant assurances that the main things you struggle with in your relationships with builders will be fairly handled. Important things such as getting paid promptly and fairly, having someone available to make decisions on the jobsite and more importantly, sticking to those decisions and not developing selective amnesia. Part of the Pledge is to have the job ready to save needless trips, and to provide adequate notification for scheduling your work. We know these issues are important to the contractors we respect, and they are important to us.

On the other side of the coin, we as builders have some things that are important to us, and they are part of the Pledge, too. We need fair competitive prices without having to check bid all the time. We need you to do your best to give us priority in returning bids and in jobsite scheduling. We need you to arrive on the job when promised and work steadily until completion of your tasks. We need proper insurance and safety training of your workers. And we need the proper willing attitude of a committed, enthusiastic partner in producing quality homes and satisfying our mutual customers.

Your performance and compliance with the Pledge will be shared with the other builders in the program. You may anticipate their work when they are looking for additional trades or to replace someone.

We believe that the mutual benefits created by the Pledge will become even more valuable in future years when we work through the building cycles which are sure to come. When work becomes scarcer, having a group of solid, loyal builders, who pay as agreed, will give you, as our partner trade contractor, increased peace of mind over those scrambling for new work.

We look forward to your participation in signing the Integrity Pledge.
